1. Job Search Engines Don't Work
Job Search Engines are platforms created to help you save time searching for open positions so that, you don't have to search every company's career page one by one. Their intention is not to get you hired. Getting hired is the by product of the problem they're trying to solve, which is time spent searching for jobs. Google Jobs is not stopping you from getting hired. If you're applying to jobs and aren't hearing anything back, it's your resume that's stopping you.
2. LinkedIn Doesn't Have Real Opportunities
I've been offered opportunities to interview for over 20 real positions from recruiters at Google, Disney, Gartner, Kimberly-Clark, etc. on LinkedIn. There are over 20 million companies on LinkedIn posting real jobs with real recruiters looking for really great talent that know how to market and sell their talents in digital spaces. LinkedIn most definitely works for those who invest in optimizing their profile and spend time connecting with other professionals.
3. I Don't Need a Career Coach
Right now, you may not need a career coach. However, at some point in our lives we all come across a career crossroads that gets us stuck and could use some clarity and guidance to get us pass it. If you're looking for a job and you're strictly relying on the internet for information, you'll remain stuck. The internet doesn't have the capability to work through your specific job search challenges and guide you using the most up-to-date job market data. You don't have to do it alone.
